Dr. Darrel Asuncion, DC
Dr. Darrel was born and raised on Long Island. After getting injured in a severe auto accident at 15 years old, he struggled with ongoing pain, going back and forth between pain management and physical therapy. As he overcame his injuries, he was offered a job at the very own outpatient clinic that rehabbed him, and he unknowingly started his career in healthcare & injury recovery, working in both outpatient and inpatient physical therapy clinics at 18 years old.
He attended the State University of New York, graduating with a degree in Exercise Science, with a focus on Fitness Development. He continued as a personal trainer before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from New York Chiropractic College where he performed clinical rotations at the Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic and Monroe Community Hospital located in Rochester, NY.
Dr. Darrel moved to the greater Washington D.C area, and over his 8 years there, bridged his rehabilitation experience with Chiropractic expertise, to where life came full circle. He ultimately worked across more than 25 Physical Therapy clinics with two of the largest healthcare companies in the Mid-Atlantic region, evaluating and treating patients as they recovered from auto accidents. In his capacity, he gained invaluable insight into multi-site operations and patient management at scale.
He also served as a personal trainer at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD, where he trained many golfers and tennis players, taught group exercise and mobility classes, and provided exclusive health presentations to members. It was also during this time that he collaborated with the area’s leading concierge family medicine practice, where he had the privilege of working with many exclusive clients and their families, including sports team owners, distinguished officials, leaders, and VIPs of our nation’s capital.
Dr. Darrel takes great pride in his career journey in Washington, D.C., as he worked alongside and was generously endorsed by esteemed medical physicians, including some who previously served at the Pentagon. Now, he is excited to bring that same high standard of care, trust, and commitment to Seneca, offering personalized care for patients while continuing to foster strong professional collaborations. Dr. Darrel’s goal is to ensure that every patient, whether recovering from an accident, managing chronic pain, or pursuing peak performance, feels supported and understood.
Outside of the clinic, he enjoys working out, spending time with his Bernese Mountain Dog, Griffin, concerts, golfing, and boating. He is passionate about exploring new restaurants and new cities, which keeps him inspired both personally and professionally.
